About Forrest and MN4DQ

My name is Forrest Chad Wilkinson I was born in Grand Marais Minnesota, on the shores of the “Big Sea Waters”… Gitche gumee.… Lake Superior… during an early November gale of 1962. I am an avid admirer of the Great Lakes and great lakes shipping (and lighthouses too!). I know the State of Minnesota and love her geology, people and history. I am also a boater. I have swum, canoed, sailed and motored much of the waters of Minnesota. That includes the “Father of Waters”, the Mighty Mississippi River that begins its’ American tour from Lake Itasca. (A derivation of the Latin words Veritas-“true”, and Caput- “head”…verITAS CAput. That River runs through Minnesota and her history. Saint Paul, the Capitol of Minnesota, is located on the northern terminus of the navigable channel on the Mississippi River. I feel and believe that our history is important.
